The Timperley Band reformed in 2005 and between 2006 and 2008 were one of the top bands in the North West winning many honours. The band no longer exists but the memories and good times will never be forgotten.

Timperley Brass Band is a successful, local brass band performing at the highest levels. Our recent phenomenal success has been in part down to the hard work of our small team of dedicated behind-the-scenes staff.

The band recognises this team now needs to be expanded to accommodate the next stage of it’s development in to a very high calibre and professional standard musical ensemble representing Timperley and Trafford.

We understand that people’s free time is precious and so we are looking for four individuals who might have a little spare time and maybe even some organisational experience to join the existing team and to take the band forward into future successes. We are looking for people interested in the following roles:-

    • Concert Secretary
    • Fundraising Co-ordinator
    • Property Manager
    • Band Publicity & Administration
    • Media Specialists (Audio & Digital Media (Internet, Video) plus Graphic Design etc)

Being involved with the Timperley Band team is both very enjoyable and rewarding particularly now having the opportunity to contribute directly to the future success of this truly world-class brass band. Become a Friend of the Band

Timperley Brass Band is a voluntary organisation run by an annually elected Committee and is a registered charity (#1116026). The costs associated with running a high calibre brass band are significant with equipment for the band including necessary high quality musical instruments ranging from £100 to over £6,000. We meet the core day-to-day running costs of the band mainly through concert performances. Since reforming in September 2005 however the band have identified an urgent need to purchase equipment with a total cost in excess of £30,000 namely –

  • Instruments
    • Uniforms; jackets, ties etc.
    • Banners (for music stands, publicty)
    • New music

How to Get Involved

1. Friends Of Timperley Band – Nil Subscription

  • Help fund raising e.g. coffee mornings, car boot sales, general help at concerts selling programmes / merchandise, promoting becoming a vice president or a friend of the band.
  • Annual Friends & Vice Presidents free concert
  • Half yearly Timperley Band Magazine.

2.Vice Presidents – Annual Subscription

  • Vice President of Timperley Band certificate
  • 10% off any concert promoted by the band and priority tickets
  • Attend rehearsals subject to prior arrangement
  • Invited to the Annual Friends' & Vice Presidents' free concert.
  • Half yearly Timperley Band Magazine.

3. Life Vice Presidents – Single Subscription

  • Benefits as for Vice Presidents.

4. Endow a Chair – Additional Annual Subscription

  • Individuals name / In Memory Of for example noted under the conductors / a players name on the bands website and in concert programmes (where possible).

All Patrons will receive an annual certificate signed by the Band Chairman and General Secretary showing the membership joining date and an individual membership number. For all categories above, the Patrons name will be added to the Patrons page of the bands website (individuals choice).
